ALFRED WOODWARD, M. D.
This is. without exception, the most comprehensive and intelligible work published on the class of diseases of which it treats. Avoiding all technical terms, it addresses itself to the reason of its readers. It is free from all objectionable matter, and no parent however fastidious, can object to placing it in the hands of his sons. The author has devoted many years to the treatment of the various complaints treated of, 'with too little breath to puff,' and 'too little presumption to impose,' he has offered to the world at the merelv nominal price ol 25 cents', the fruits of some wen ty years most successful practice."—Herald,

The constitutions of thousands who are raising families have been enfeebled, if not broken dow'n, and they do not know the cause or the cure. I COM.MKRCHL COLLEGE OF INDIA NAfOLlS.—'This Department, which has been closed sometime for want of room, will be reopened at College Hall on the 1st Monday of November, and be continued permanently open for the reception of Ladies.
The objects aimed at in this Department are, first, to remedy the great and lamentable effects in the present system of female education, by training the mind to 0 more active, accurate, and practical mode of thought, and imparting that thorough knowledge ol business matters as to make them more self-rciiunt and independent than they now are and
Second, to open up new and more profitable sources of employment for females, who are obliged to earn a scanty subsistence by 1I10 hard and trying labors of the needle, or the irksome and poorly paid duties of a teacher, by qualifying thein for the less arduous but more profitable duties of an accountant.
Terms and regulations the same in both Departments. Ladiosfrom abroad will be furnished board in private families, who will exercise kind parental care over them during their stay.
No Lady need hesitate coming, or no parent to send his daughter, through Salae moiivea ol delicacy, as no interference with the Ladies on the part of the Gentlemen is ever allowed.
A Catalogue containing full inlormation upon every point desired will be furnished gratis, on application to W. MiK. SCOTT, Pres'i.^
