He could not even write the article in reply to Crispin without lying once or more before he got through with it. He says the article is from the pen of Judge Wick, which is no such thing ; Judge Wick is as far from being the author of it, as the editor of the Journal is of being a smart man. It is very clearly to be seen, that all those misstatements published in the Journal concerning the Stewart reso- i lution, are intended by their author to operate against i Judge Wick throughout the district, but they will not di it; they will fall without their intended effect, as will Mr. McCarty, (politically,) on the first Monday in August next. Before cloinr, I Will just remark, ' thit it would be much better for the owners of the Journal to discharge that long-eared thing from the the north, as he appears to be out of his element, and only a deuce in the pack who edit that filthy ieet, winch is a disgrace to the town. CRISPIN. July 34, 1347. Tlic Journal Kim in the C round. The Journal of ikl inst. backs water in regard to its assertions made about Judjre Wick and the Stew art resolution. The Journal says the Jude voted ajainst 3Ir. Chapman's amendment.
