HOOSIERS COMING HOME BEARING GIFTS AND STORIES.
SOMETHING ABOUT HOFFMAN
f By Walter S. GreenouKh. staff Correspondent of The Indianapolis NewsJ ST. LOUIS. June 16.-Hoosiers today “homeward turned their weary ways,” footsore, but happy; less heavy as to their wallets, but smiling: bearing many gifts to the folks at home, but still cheerful— for they “cleaned up” in St. Louis, as had been told in prior dispatches. Some of them will not get home today, but they will hurry on as soon as they wake up. because Thomas Taggart said he was going home today just as soon as the meeting of the national committee was concluded. And what's St. Louis without Senator Taggart? Indiana just about ran this convention. There, will be many tales to tell when the delegates get home—and some that will not be told. Due Credit Given. Fid G. Hoffman, of Ft. Wayne, who was being boomed for secretary to the national committee, privately said a few days ago that he had told leaders he could not take the place, even if President Wilson should approve his selection. And. it might be added, that talk among the members of the Indiana delegation as to Hoffman’s qualifications as national committeeman made a favorable impression among the national leaders here. Indiana really was represented by both Hoffman and Senator Taggart in all the deliberations of the committee. And credit is being given each of them by leaders from other states here because of the manner In which they handled the details of the preliminary and subsequent arrangements through their corps of Hoosier assistants. Delegates to the convention are returningf home very happy over what they term the prospects of the Democratic party for success in the nation. They profess to see nothing but harmony throughout their party, and they utterly refuse to assume any other position than the one they have occupied for several years, namely, leaning on the broad shoulders of President W’ilson If the government of the United States were a monarchy, no suzerain would have ruled with more competent pow'er, or with more popularity, than did W r oodrow Wilson in this convention. Big Days Ahead. With Thomas R. Marshall, of Indiana, as the vice-presidential candidate of the Democrats, with Charles W’arren Fairbanks, of Indiana, as the vice-presi-dential candidate of Republicans and with two senators to elect in Indiana this fall and with the state normally "close.” when the Republican party is not divided, the greatest Hoosier pastime will assume the proportions of a “Midway Plaisance until November.” Just to show that everybody is going home happy-M^olonel Bill Falrman, of Punxsutawney, Pa., in an open statement to the press today, announced that there is nothing in the human conservation idea —that he has smoked for steventy-five years and still knows a good flve-cent cigar when he sees it.

^Rooster Left All Alone
A rooster at the home of M. M. Poole, 3157 Kenwood avenue, is pining today because some one entered the chicken house in which he lives, instead of the one next door, where there were more chickens. Twelve hens and the one rooster belonging to Poole went to roost as usual last night, but today Poole found that the hens were gone and only the rooster remained. Wagon tracks in the alley and the hoof
prints of a horse showed that the thief took his time in obtaining the twelve hens. Three times within a year thieves have broken into another chicken house nearby which contained more hens, and Poole thinks the thief made a mistake last night.

Like a Boy at 50 Bubbling Over With Vitality—Taking Iron Did It Doctor says Nuxaled Iron is greatest of all strength builders— Often increases the strength and endurance of delicate, nervous folks 200 per cent, in two weeks’ time.
NEW YORK, N. Y.—Not long ago a man came to me who was nearly half a century old and asked me to give him a preliminary examination
for life insurance. I
to find him with the blood pressure of a boy of 20 and as full of vigor, vim and vitality as a young man; in fact, a young man he really was notwithstanding his age. The secret he said was taking iron—Nuxated Iron had filled him with renewed life. At 30 he was in bad health; at 46 careworn and nearly all in; now at 50 a miracle of vitality and his face beaming with the buoyancy of youth. As I have said a hundred times over, iron is the greatest of all strength builders. If people would only throw away patent medicines and nauseous

while, double their strength and endurance and entirely get rid of all symptoms of dyspepsia, liver and other troubles in from ten to fourteen days’ time simply by taking iron in

concoctions and take simple Nuxated Iron, I am convinced that the lives of thousands of persons might be saved who now die every year from pneumonia, grippe, consumption, kidney, liver and heart trouble, etc. The real and true cause which started their diseases was nothing more nor less than a weakened condition brought on by lack of iron in the blood. Iron is absolutely necessary to enable your blood to change food into living tissue. Without it, no matter how much or what you eat, your food merely passes through you without doing you any good. You don’t get the strength out of it and as a consequence you become weak, pale and sickly looking just like a plant trying to grow in a soil deficient in iron. If you are not strong or well you owe it to yourself to make the following test; See how long you can work or how far you can walk without becoming tired. Next take two five-grain tablets cf ordinary Nuxated Iron three times per dav after meals for two weeks. Then
was astonished j the proper form. And this after they
had in some cases been doctoring for months without obtaining any benefit. But don’t take the old forms of reduced iron, iron acetate or tincture of iron simply to save a few cents. You must take iron in a form that can be easily absorbed and assimilated like Nuxated Iron if you want it to do you any good, otherwise it may prove worse than useless. Many an athlete or prize fighter has won the day simply because he knew the secret of great strength and endurance and filled his blood with iron before he went into the affray, while many another has gone down to inglorious defeat, simply for the lack of iron.—E
Sauer, M. D.
NOTE—Nuxated Iron, recommended above by Dr. Sauer, is not a patent medicine nor secret remedy, but one which is well known to druggists and whose iron constituents are widely prescribed by eminent physicians 1 everywhere. Unlike the older inorganic iron products, it is easily assimilated, does not iniure the teeth, make them black, nor upset the stomach;

on the contrary, it is a most potent remedy, in nearly all forma or indigestion, as well as for nervous, rundown conditions. The manufacturers have such great confidence m Nuxated Iron that they offer to forfeit $100.00 to any charitable institution if they! can not take any man or woman under 60 who lacks iron and increase their strength 200 per cent, or over in four weeks’ time, provided they have no! serious organic trouble.
