PINKEYE.
A Remarkable Ciire of a Horse.
Col. James I* Fleming, a prominent grocery merchant, a member of the firm of Fleming & Lofton, Augusta, Ua., makes the following stateasent of the treatment of a valuable horse with Swift’s Specific: In the (kit of MW I had a valuable colt taken with a severe case of pinkeye, which resulted In the most fswrfnl cbmi of blood poisoning I have ever seen. After eight or nine months of doctoring with every remedy that I could hear of, I despaired of a cure. At this time the horse was unable to move, because of swollen limbs. Uln right hind leg was as large us a man's body, and had on Hover forty running sores. He bad also a number of large sores on bis body and other Hmba He was a most pitiable look mg object, and I waa advised to end his sufferings with the shotgun. He waa a valuable animal, and I did not want to lose Mm. After racking my brain In search for another remedy more efficacious,] thought of Swift's Specific. I knew It wa. invaluable to the human family aa a blood purifier, and why should It not be for the animal aa well* I did not hu<uie, hut seut last July to Atlanta for a supply. I began the treatment w Ith 4 or. of H. K 8. and 4 ox. of water three times a day This I continued for a WMfc. Then 1 Increased the dose lot oi. of each, and continued for a week. Then I Increased to S ox. and run It a week, when I went back to 6 ox. again. The reaun was that at the end of the first week the'horse had a (Mr appetite, which he hud not had since his Ecknesa. At the end ofthe second week even greater improvement was apparent, for manv of the sores Were healing nicely, and the horse manifested a defire to move about. At the end of the third week he' uegan to show gain In flesh, and hud fill) appetite. Tbo swelling had about disappeared. I used In all About U bottles of Swift's ftpecllic. and when 1 quit Its use the horse had only ftmr small sure-, left on him, and they healed up Immediately. In August last all symptoms ofthe disease pawed •way, and up to date no signs of the return of Ute trouble have made their appearance, and the horse has done a mule’s work on my farm. I regard It one ofthe most remarkslilecures I have •ver known. Thus this great medicine has proven a boon to the animal aa well as to the human race. Augusta, Jan. », l.Nta. Jas. I,. An Authoritative Opinion.
The Firemen’s Herald, of New York, which is authority upon fire matters, gives a lengthy editorial notice of Cicero Seiliert’s patent, and its transfer to Frank B. Walker, and is inclined to the belief that every city having electrical appliances to doors, chains or halters, in connection with the tire department or patrol service, can hardly hope to avoid paying damages to the patentee,
