Dili' (jRF.r.jf. "Tost of our readers w ill recollect that during the late presidential contest, Duff Green and llussell Jarvi? were joint editors and proprietors of the United Stales'1 Ttlerapfi. Since the contest has terminated, Dull" Green, assole proprietor, claims for the Ttlegraph the distinguished chdraeter Jthe National Executive Organ, and for himself the office of Dictator General. That such a man, and such a paper, should receive the unlimited confidence of the president, has very risonably excited the wonder of some of the warmest friends to the present administration, in various parts ofhel nion. A strong and respectable

this catili, like Joseph Surfacr, was canting about confidence and got i' fiith he was harboring the base design of terminating our relations, so soon as the contest in which we were then engagrj should be successfully terminated, and almost immediately after my money had savpd his establishment from execution and his person from a jail. Such is an accurate history of the formation of my partnership with Duff Green. Hereafter 1 will give an account of its progress and termination, in the course of which, I will prove him by documents under his own hand, to he a profligate and "shameless liar." In hi second communication to the publie, Jarvis assigns a number of causes tor the difficulties he had to encounter in his

DujJ (irrcn, of himself, is mdecd too low, too degraded, to deserve any notice from those who can o(T-r any claims to private respectability. In the city which has the mi-fortune to number him amor gher inhabitants, he is deeply cont rr 1 c ' a- a politician ai d a man, and .dmitted by few, very few ofitsrepu'ade ihzens. to nt y other intimacy than
he necejisities of business may require. But Duff Green, through the most un rtimate vote that was ever given hv mv IBuise of Representatives, has beet'

with the full measure of his infamy, may pass for evidence of his having some la i ins to respectability. Such is mv
ipology for condescending to refute the falsehoods of Duff Green. Jams then goes on to giv 0. a full account of the manner in which he was brought into a connexion with (ireen, and the nature and conditions of their partnership, which account he concludes thus During the negotiation, and on execulingthe contract, Duff Green spoke much about the probable permanency ol the connection during the joint lives of the parties, and of the unlimited confidence and perfect cordiality that ought to subsist between them. Not then know ing his infamy , his utter destitution of principle, both moral and no

Another was a most egregious variyt a most rediculous self s' fheiencv, w hich induced hirn to imagine him-elf the very Warwick of political content, ffttcrtip awl puller rlorcn of" Be-t-idents. So singularly wrong headed
was he on this point, that he u;ed frequently to congratulate himself upon the predominating influence which ha had acquired over American politic?, saying that all the prpes cf the party were subjected to the Telegraph, obliged to receive their tone fir m it, and afraid to eppese it, and that he cculd therefoie determine who should m j who should not be presi dent, nnd whs. should and what should not he the pohcy of any administration'.!
