During the last two or three weeks, a great portion of my time md labor ha, been devoted io the arrange ment of Private Mails, so as to accommodate persons who live at a distance from my Post Oihce. But xvith regret, I must noxv declare to those xvho have evinced a willingness to contribute to its support, my determination to stop the Mail xxhich mn through Perry, Jackson and Washington tow nships. There are not enough persons o:, that route, willing to pay the sum of 5U cents per year postage, to cover half the cod of horses and riders. There are but few subscribers, however, xvho xvill suffer much inconvenience hv this, as the U. S. Mail noxv passes Washington, Fill'' mill, Fconomy, Jacksonsburg, Vandalia, Milton, Waterloo, &c. and those xvho live between OiTices can have their papers left on the xvay, by the carriers; and the cost of pos tage xvill be no more than at present, by the Private Mail. Persons xvho have paid me postage in advance, xvill have no additional cost, as I will pay the postage on their papers, before they leave this Post Olhce, but those who have not paid, connot expect this of me; and the postage on way papers should be? paid to the carr ier, or to myself, in ad vance, as I have to pay it in that xvay when the subscriber does not.
