Haul Road Meeting. It is sincerely hoped a meeting of tltc citizens of the town and country, which has been invited this day at one o'clock, p. m. at the Hotel f J. O. Clark, will not be neglected. The object to bccftectcd is important, and all who feel an interest in the luiure prosperity of the town, should attend. At ho election in Vint enncs Township, fn Saturday last, for a Magistrate fur said Township, Samuel Hill, was elected by a considerable majority. The Legislature of Tennessee have passed resolutions denouncing the West Point Militarv Academy, as a needless and expensive institution. The Legislature of Indiana is now in session Will they follow so good an example? At a meeting vl the citizens of Gibson county, held at the court-house in Princeton, on Saturday the 30th day of Nov. consideration the propriety of petitioning the Legislature to incorporate a company from Evansvillc via Princeton and Vmcennes to some suitable point on the upper "Wabash; whereupon Col. Wm. Hak(;rovi: was called to the Chair, and John R. Montgomery was appointed Secretary. Whereupon the folowing resolutions Mcre unanimously adopted. 1st Rcsohexl, That we highly approve of the efforts of our fellow -citizens of JSvacsvilJe and Vincenncs to procure the incorporation of a company to construct a Kail Road from Evansville via Princeton and Vincenncs to some suitable point on the upper Wabash and that we will use our best endeavors to encourage the commencement and completion of the same. 2J Risolccd, Tint we heartily concur and acrre with our friends f Evansville for the construction ot a National Hospital at that place and that our Senator and Representative m the State Legislature be instructed to use their best endeavors to have the Lcgistature memorialize congress on that subject.
