The Bank has sold the property it obtained from mc for thousands more than its due; can it claim that aiso?"' A reply was stammered out by the agent: he attempted to ward away the force of the old man's arguments, but I could plainly discover nature and cumraou sensc rising up to rebuke him for the ilirnsy sophistry, and lam confident that he regretted the hard iecessity which his situation imnosed unon him, of shutting his eyes against justu-.e, and closing his ears against the houest convictions of his own judgment. It would be useless to multiply these cases; they are as numerous as the stars, and were I disposed to go on, I could till volumes with them. I could produce cases whore luncst and industrious tradesmen and mechanics with small possessions, hal become slightly embarrassed u iih the Bank, who, whan the institution was closed, in 1S20, finding that they had not the current means to relieve themselves, at once came promptlv forward

and offered to give the most ample secuii-

CABIN CP CHANfJES. We copy Irom tho Richmond. Knq lirer an article on the subject of tho change which have been made in the Calintv the different individuals who have filic'd the Presidential chair since the establishment of the Government. Our opponents have made tho subject of the changc3 which have taken place under the Presidency of Andrew Jackson, the ground of loud complaint against him, as if it were an occurrence cfan extraordinary nature; and et it will be seen that there has never been a President under whom 'chances have not taken place, and that under those who have been the most esteemed fur their wisdom and their worth, there have been changes almost or quite as numerous as those which have excited so much their wonder and abhorrence. When to this circumstance is added the consideration of the peculiar circumstances of the present times, growing out of the conflicting views which exist upon subjects which were before little thought of, and are now regarded of great moment, it is certainly not surprising that the changes under our present Chief Magistrate have been as numerous as those under some of his predecessors, when those conflicting views did not op eratc to produce them. There are two errors in the article refered io, which it is proper should be noticed. laniST Smith was the Secretary of tho Navy under Mr. Jefferson, and Mr. Di'anks name is omitted as Secretary of tho Treasvry under ihe present Executive.
