riJVCEMIiS, JANUARY 31, 1829 The Legislature of the state adjourned on Saturday the 24th inst. after a session of eight reeks, during which time they passed ninetyfife acts, and eighteen memorials and joint resolutions. Next week I shall endeavour to lay before the readets of the Sun, the enlire list of acts and resolutions passed during the session. The Legislature of Illinois, adjourned on Friday evening, the 23d inst. Louhvu.LF,, Jan 24, Gen. JACKSON arrived at this place on Thursday, and departed about 12 o'clock, M on Friday, for Washington. He was accompanied by Judge Ovf.iiton. Maj W B Lewis Maj. Lee, Capt. A J. Uonelson, Andrew Jackson. Jr. Mrs Lewis, Mrs Don ELSON, and other ladies. pitable manner, at Mr. pevkin's Union Hail, Where apartments had been provided lor him. During his short stay he was visited by a large portion of our citizens. National salutes were fired, on hi-Ian lin, at sumiseon Friday morning, and immediately preceding his departure for Cincinnati in the steam boat Pennsylvania, which had beet; despatched from Pittsburgh to receive him at this place.
