In the second place, as to both the seeds being rotten' what can you, as candid men, think of that remark? When you must know that the Bible, as well as the pamphlet, is plain to the point, of there being two seeds, and the pamphlet is en gaged in bringing to view, and proving the soundness and purity of one of those
two oecds. You might probably have relieved yourselves, by giving the name oi your informer, respecting the train which attends the printing office ; but as .to that error, I shall leave the printers, & those acquainted with the latts, to judge ol Although 1 have had the misfoitune of being raised without an education, my cvn cerns of life preventing me Irom acquit. i abilities; labouring w ith mv own Lands for the support of my L411r.lv ; pi caching
PALESTINE, (111.) Nov. 29, 1827. " D PARKER IS YET ALIVE." .Messrs George trailer, & Spencer Clark, Editors of the Baalist Recorder. gentlemen Your paper of the 27th October, 1827, has fallen into my lipids. I cannot account for the strange, lalsc,' corrupt answer to your Palestine correspondent, which appears in it ; except, that you being interested in, & under tho influence of the spirit and principle of the Baptist Board of Foreign Missions, (so called, which is false, corrupt k envious.) thought it a favourable time to injure me, as I have stood much in the way ot that iniquity ; or that you had learned from Mr A. Campbell, the art of evading the force of truth, that stands in your way, over your match, by great swelling woids of vanity, and ridiculing both it, and its author. Or, otherwise, it may be that
some ot your prentice boys, in your absence may have slipt it in. This I would prefer to believe, for my high opinion of your piety and talents, makes it appear strange to me, that such a production should proceed from men of your standing Or that you should not have known that you were disgusting the feelings of the pious of all sects particularly those who believe with mc, and weakening the hands of my opposers, (except the weak, ignorant part,) as such a production from men of your character, goes to establish my doctrine. Because, from you might be expected the best that could be said againstk and now what has appeared r Ridicule and falsehood ! While vou must have known that vou were laying yourselves liable to be re- . proved for disgracing thi Baptists, by recording on your own responsibility, in what you call the Baptist Recoider, you being Editors of the same, that which is false, slanderous and hypocritical; (Par ker being yet alive ) But as you arc accountable for this production, until you relieve yourselves, I shall take a short view it. The injustice you have clone to the title of the pamphlet may have answered you some purpose. If you ate willing, the pamphlet is sufficient to cor-

you appear to reprobate the pamphlet in to to, without reserve. In this, it seems that the whole of the word of God included therein, with the conclusions drawn therefrom, are rejected by you. Thus it appears that you believe to the reverse of mc, in all my three selected points. How will this do lor a Baptist ? On some of the most particular quotations which you have made from my pamphlet, I had gave an explanation of my true meaning in them remains. Why have vou wi hheld that from the public but todecci.e? In the second quotation which vou have made, you have slipped over some, taken up some, and fell lar short of including all of the sentence. What is the matter now ? Why is the public deprived of flulight that this sentence, if lairlv quoted,, might have cast on the subject f But modesty, 1 suppose, interfered in thk case. What a pitty that the modesty of Editors, under the solemnity of religion, should be of such a nature as to shun the truth ; produce, and face injurious falsehood without a bins!. ; practice a fraud on the public, and destiny public faith in their Editorial remarks. Perhaps, gentlemen, this mcecsiv has prevented you from attending strictly to that train of Scripture upon which I have founded my doctrine Should this be the case, there area number id p-iss.-ues in the Bible, thai must lay silent, (or "meet you- opposition) although th might be profitable lor uocttinc, c.
