VIMCEJYJYES, DECEMBER I, 1827. The Legislature ol Indiana will meet at Indianapolis on Monday next every industry and exertion shall be used on my part, to lay before the readers of the Sun, a detail of their proceedings. On the same day, the Congress of the U. States will assemble in the city of Washington. Extracts from their proceedings shall also be presented. At the election in the 1 1th Congressional District in Kentucky, to supply the vacancy occasioned by the death ol Dr. Yonng ciultok, the Jackson candidate received 2,704 votes and calhoun, the Adams candidate, received 2,679 majo rity for Chilton, 25. At the last August election there was no Jackson candidate in the District, and it was said there was no Jacksonians in it. But owing to some irregularity in one of the returns, Calhoun received a certificate of his election Will he go on ? NEW YORK ELECTION. The N. Yolk papers ol Saturday, furnished the follow ing information relative to the election held in that state. Nat. Int. Election Returns. In every county from which we have heard this morning, save one, the J.ickson men have succeed ed. Even in Albany, but one of the adminis. ration men has been elected. Rensselcar too Rensselear, where three weeks ago, 300 Jackson men could not have been found, and even week before last, the best calculations awarded us a majority of 1000, has given four hundred Jackson majority. Ulster, Sullivan, Sche nectady, Schoharie, and Warren counties, have given large majorities for the Jack son tickets, and Columbia a small majo rity in our favor. So far as we have heard, with two or three exceptions, of little consequence now, Senate and Assembly all, all is gone. We have no desire to hear further from the country. lAkefre in the woods the Jackson fever must have its way, and be suffered to burn out. Com. Alv. A lettei dated November 3d, from a gentleman in New-York to his friend in this city contains the following intelligence : I cannot close this letter without informing you tnat Gov. Clinton held an au dience of his friends yesterday, and being asked by one of them what were his wish es on the Presidential question, said " ?y ?A to be distinct ly understood - hat I am ?vi h yu in the suprRT of Gen Jackson, HEART AND S UL " U S. tinued, it Is expected that the orientalists will exert themselves to plunder, as it is said they did in the last campaign. It is expected by many, and they have reason to believe that the negotiations for a peace arc still going on, since the present men in power are all friends of don Manuel Garcia. The operations of our squadron are completely suspended for the present, that of the enemy continues in sight, off this port, occasionally hoisting their sails when a vessel appears coming up, but all their efforts do not prevent the entrance of prizes taken by privateers, or other vessels with cargoes sent in here on speculation. Several vessels with valuable cargoes have recently arrived in the face of them, although chased in by the schooners of war. pexsacola, Oct. 14. The whole of the fleet in our harbor, consisting of the Natchez, G Rudd, csqr. (beating the broad pennant of com. It is possible, that the report if well founded, is erroneous, as ugatds the vessel named, and there is reason to suppose that it is the Grampus, it either, from which the men have deserted, ITEM By an act of the Congress of Columbia, the port of Buenaventura has been declared a free port, by which all vessels of all nations may enter and depart from it without paying import or export duties. A despatch from the B'itish Envoy at the Court of Pctsia, to Mr. Stratford Canning, transmitted the news of a great victory gained by the Russians, on the right bank of the Arascs The Augsburg Gazeue says, that the lovs of forty thousand men by the Pcr.ir.-.-is, and of eleven thousand by the victors, is probably an exaggeration The answer given to the interpreters of ihc three Ambassadors on the "Oth, was, thm the Porte would not rive anv answer, a;u ;ha! its already published Manifests r .:;on every thing that could be said on the subject in question." In c onse quence of this, the former h id already embarked on the '5 1st August. Thv accounts from Spain show that the rebel lion is raging more violently, and the insurgents seem to be gaining strength Hamburg papers to the 23d eptembci , contain an account of a dreadful fiie at A bo, on the 4th, by which nine hundred houses were destioyed. It broke out in a house where the people were mclti; g tallow, for which a penalty is imposed.
