THE 'WESTERN SUN VINCENNES, august Id, 1827. The Wabash continues in good navigable order and is now rising. ERRATA. In the table of votes published last week, in Widncr township, Mr. McClure had 24, instead of 34 votes it was footed up correctly. In the table of the Senatorial election,
in Daviess county Mr. Ewing had 283 ;
votes, instead ot 383 it was tooted up correctly. Mr. Polke's vote as footed up should have been 456, in place of 454. . . u 1 m mr. stout Enclosed you have a certificate of a day's work done on my FAMILY SP INNER by an inexperienced hand, togi thcr with the certificate of a respectable citizen of Daviess county, whose head has been bleached by 60 winters, one of the Revolutionary stock. I have spared no pains to render this Machine as'pcifect as possible and the public may rest assured, that it is well calculated to promote their interest, from its simplicity. The labour of turning the wheel, with six or eight spindles, does not exceed that of a common flax wheel, and 20 spindles may be driven with nearly the same ease, and for which a child often years old is fully competent. Communications in relation to the a-
bove, addressed to the undersigned, sole !
proprietor, will be promptly attended to. and to a vencrous public, he looks for patronage.0 W. H. McCALL. We, the undersigned, have sec n XV. 11 McCall's Family Sfiinner fairly tested; we have seen forty odd cuts of good woolen yarn, spun in one. day, with six spindles", the most of which is 16 o- 18 cuts to the pound. Those who finds a wheel of domestic manufacture advantageous, will also find it to their advantage to adopt this spinner. Charles Mc Quire, William Wyant, J.nnhan I nomas. WASHlxr.TN, 9th July, 1827. I ceruithat 1 U.wv purchased a Fam ily Sfiinner, of W U McCutl, and a fair Experiment has hcen made on Cotton fc Wool, much to my sa'isfactioti. It is both cheep, simple, and complete in its t fleet, ahd i earnestly recommend it as a useful machine. A step daughter of mine spun an excellent thread in two hours, oi both cotton and wool ; I cannot see any well grounded objection in theory cr practice to this machine, other than lh bug-a-boo or awkwardness in attempting first to spin. When the machine is ma 1c well, there is nothing to get cut of ooVr. f. jniv.e vi.-. WASHINGTON, July 29 h, SS7. I have seen and und Mr. MeCali'? Family Siinner ; in two hours I have made a good thread of w ool, Sc of cotton, and find it well calculated for spinning cotton cord, I am well pleased with it, see nor know of nothing to get out ol order ; the thread made is superior to that of the common w heel, and more regular.
