Interior, It is stated that iron rait roads have been constructed from Kaliah to Brezese, 60 German miles, in uninterrupted length, (360 English miles.) From Mexico. We must not forget to mention the creation and installation of ' a Grand Lodge of Freemasons in Mexico. It is composed of the first men of the country. Esteva, Secretary of the National t reasury, is Grand Master J X tvala, a Senator of distinguished talents, D G Master ; General Guerrero, Grand Senior Warden ; Alpuche, a Priest and Senator, Grand Junior Warden ; Zoton and Abulto, Grand Secretary andTrcasurcr ; Gen. Filisola and Aldana, fust St second Grand Deacons; and Ramos A Tispe,a Priest ot considerable talents and influence, Grand Chaplain. On the 29th of September, Mr. Poinsett, the American Minister, as Past D. G. M. of the Grand Lodge of South Carolina, installed, according to our usages, with much pomp and ceremony, the officers of the Grand Lodge of Mexico. A splendid supper h brotherly toasts followed. Nat Gaz. Mr. Weddle, a master in the British army, has lately penetrated 200 miles nearer the South pole, than any former navigator. After penetrating several barriers of ice, hitherto insuperable, he found an open sea within the Antartic circle. Nat. Int. We were yesterday shewn a letter from an American gentleman in Guyaquill, of August 4th the wiiter of which states that nothing new had occurred there, but mentions as a novelty the arrival ol a steam vessel from England, which had created no little amazement among the natives, as they could not conceive how fire and water, by making steam, should propel a vessel faster than wind and sails. The writer remarks that the people, though possessing good natural talents, are de ficient, in education ; but that they have so much shrewdness in trade that there is little chance for citizens from the United States.
