I have extracted from the Madison pa per, the proceedings of a meeting of the people in that town, requesting the governor to convene the legislature, for the purpose of taking into consideration the necessity ol a repeal, or an amendment to the late execution law. It would have gratified me. and I believe a majority of the people of this county, had a milder course been adopted. I observe by the papers, that other counties arc calling meetings for a imilar purpose would it not be well for the people of Knox, to call township meetings, to con-vUit upon the matter.
