Mr. Khca, from the committee of Pensions, reported a bill to levive and continue in force for a longer time the act to revive and continue in force the act to provide for persons who were disabled by known wounds received in the revolutionary war, and for other purposes; which was twice read. Mr. Rhea proposed to fill the blank in the bill, lor the duration of this act, w ith two years; but Mr. Tucker, of Virginia, with a view to present repeated legislation on the subject, proposed six years which motion was acceeded toby Mr Rhea and was agreed to by the House The bill was then ordered to be engrossed and read a third time to-morrow. Mr Cambell moved the following resolution, which was ordered, 74 to 47, to lie on the table: Resolved, That a committee be appointed to report a bill providing for the apportionment of representatives among the several states, according to the fourth census. Resolutions for instructing the proper committees to consider the expediency of continuing in force the act of May 1820, extending the time for the redemp lion of lands sold for laxes, and also of extending the time iVr redemption of lands, sold for ihe direct tax, under the acts of Aug. , 1813, Jan 9th. and Match 5. 1815 were ordered to lie on the table. Mr. Cook, of Illinois, submitted the following resolution: Resolved, That the committee on the public lands be instructed to enquire, whether any, and, if any, what provisions arc necessary to be made to enable the people of the state of Illinois to open a canal through ihe public land to connect the waters of Lake Michigan with the Illinois river. IRELAND. In some parts of Ireland, the disturbances still continue, and murders and other outrages are committed with a frequency and boldness that create much alarm. Mr. C. Sparling, Mr. Ives, Mr. Fitzgerald, a Mr Gorman. Sc several others, are among who those were murdered in the most shocking manner, in the county of Limerick. The militaiy were in motion, and every possible means put in operation to allay the general alarm, and. if possible, to prevent the further depredations of those misguided wretches, who had been suecesful in procuring arms and other weapons of death.
