TIic above can in no mans opinion, stand in need oi any thing additional it must be viewed as conclusive and clearly prove that the writer of the letter published on the 20th Oct did not think alone, or write incorrectly. There is now however, in the hands of a friend in Princeton a certificate substantially the same signed by four or five other respectable citizens of that county, which bv
some omission or failure, has not come to
hand.
Now to whom does the. language so profusely used by Air. Senator Daniel
strictly apply ? He deals out the terms
"moial depravity," " malicious false
hoods," slander and misrepresentation, kc. Sec." as though thev could apply to
mi for handing the truth to the printer, when they are obviously appliable only to
himselt tor denying it.

I will here srivc
the following letter from the same hand
nit STOUT, HAVING banded to you the
'cxtnU of a letter from a gentleman in Gibson county," published on the 20th October, upon which Mr. R. Daniel after many weeks silence, has thought proper to make some extravagant remarks in your paper of the 24th ult. and observing his contemptible abuse and artifice, in allusions to my place of residence, xnv person, the late Senatorial election.
Sec. ike. avowedly intended for me, 1 am
forced rcluctantlv, to notice the " little
viultnm in fiarvo " ercntlcman" and his
production. I do not in this notice think
it very important to enquire whether R. Daniel be a u dwarf" in person, or a
- -k dwarf" in understanding or whether
he be " thirteen hands and a half high
when he stands plumb,' as I disdain to imitate the ungentle manly manner in which I have been assailed. But sir, 1
do think it of somo importance to enquire (for the information and satisfaction of the
public) whether the letter at which he
took offence, and upon the publication of
which he predicates his abuse, contained
the tru'k, and nothing tnf. the tru'h.
This enuuirv I firmlv believe will be
jTcatlv facilitated by a perusal of the fol
lowing certificate letter : indeed they o -
ire so explicit and so clear, that I am
.-rcr.tlv mistaken if they do not carry con
viction to every dispassionate and unbi
ased mind. Certificate of the liev A. Dcvin.
Ikim requested to state what I can re
ollect relative to a meeting at the court liouc of Gibson county. Indiana, in September last, for the citizens to instruct their representatives. Sec. I recollect Mr. R chard Daniel called on the citizens present to instruct their representatives
on the following subjects to the best of i
my knowledge. 1st. Whether they did or did not wish a I an office established ; rid. Whether they did or did not wish the replevin law further extended and 3d. Whether it was their wish to have the Seminary lands sold, or extend the leases to a further length of time, &c. After Mr. Daniel had made some remarks on the above subjects, and before the votes a ere finally taken, 1 observed to Mr. Daniel, that perhaps some other gentlemen would wish to make some remarks ; and Mr. David Robb was named I believe by Mr. Daniel and mvsclf. Mr Robb and
Mr. Daniel both spoke for a considerable length of time, especially on the extension of the replevin law the only subject on which the two gentlemen differed very materially. Mr. Robb I thought, was strongly opposed to the replevin law ; and Mr. Daniel's remarks were as warmly in favor of an extension of the replevin law. Mr. Daniel brought forward two other subjects, one was the mode of taxation, the other, the emission of treasury notes.
Votes were taken on the above questions, and were almost unanimous on each. (q not reccllect any subject bring brought forward at the above meeting, but bn Mr. Daniel lAmtelf. I have likewise leen cn extract said to be nf a letter from a gentleman in C7iAsn county published in the Western Sun cf the 10th October List, and am f "pinion that the caid extract so far as it af pliet to th" three fircfiMttiGn tubnitted by Mr. Daniel to

so.
" I thank you most kindly for sending
me tne last weeks paper, though I re
grct to see by it that my former letter has
drawn down upon you the unmerited taunts and sneers of the would-be-thought big Mr R. Daniel I am well convinced however, that the blind raving of passion, and the presumptious insinuations of impassioned vanity can have no effect on you. or on the public If this Mr. D. had
said the bellows in your room produced
