The return of our national anniversary, w is celebrated in this place on Wednesday last, by a large and respectable number of citizens with every demonstration of joyous and grateful feelings wnich it recollection is ever calculated to injure in every American breast An excellent oration was delivered at the court house by John Law, Esq to a crouded audience. Alter which the company satdo.vn to an excellent and plentiful repast prepared for the occasion by mr. O. The day we celebrate the people willed it and were free. 2. Independence may millions yet Unborn cherish the love, an I evince by their conduct the knowledge how to enjoy it. 3. gallant Lieutenant Trippe wrested rom the commander of a Tripoutan essel which he boarded, in the affair off Tripoli in 1804, has been received fiom one of his ftienus, and deposited among the trophies of the Nay bepartment. Lieutenant Trippe, it will be rememberedjumped on board the Tripoiitun, followed by Midshipman Jonathan Henley and nine men, after which his gun boat fell off, leaving him exposed to the attack of thirty-six I ripolitans. It appears thai the prospect was considered good enough tQ venture an experiment and who knows but Peru in Ohio, may prove as celebrated a place for money, as Peru in South America. 4A silver mine (supposed to be very valuable) has lately been discovered in this county in the township of Ridgetieid about five' miles north west from the new county seat.
