From the Spunibh Main. CHAHLESTON, APRIL 3. By the steam ship ilJbcrt Fulton, arx rived on Sunday, we received from our Correspondent, Havana papers to the 26th uh. inclusive. One of them contain an interesting article relating to the Spanish Main, extracted from the "C&raccas Gazette" of , the 22d February. It is a letter from Lieui. Col. Dun Antonio Vanhalcn, dated at Santa Fc de Bogota, (Capital of Nsw ( Iranada) and addressed to Don Miguel t. dc la Torre, the successor of General
Morillo in the command of the Spanish Expeditionary Army, operating in that portion of the Monarchy. In it, he com"huinicalcs to hi General, that, according to-instructions, and by virtue of tho powVrsgf Commissioner, with which he was clothed, he hid repaired to that Capital, whore he arrived on the 2 2d Jan and had, on the following day, an audience with (tn. Bolivar. To his solicitations for the appointment of Commissioners, on tie part of the Government of Co mnbia, to proceed to Spain for the adjustment of dilleroncea, and the prolongation
' of tho Armistice, which were the objects of hi mission, he, with pleasure, announces the acquiescence of Bolivar, after making objections ; which were, how- , ever, overruled. In consequence of this determination, Messrs. Echevarria and Revenga, were named as Commissioners to proceed to
the Mother Country lor the purpose ot terminating, by negotiation, the horrid
yjSJ war which had so long desolated those fertile Provinces He concludes by ob
serving that, from the moderation displayed by Bolivar, it was to be hoped, tlSt, in future, the most fraternal sentiments would be enter tained by the hitherto contending parties for each other; and by passing the highest eulogium on the conduct of the Vice President of New Granada, General Santander, and the officers of his stall', who treated him with the greatest urbanity. The Havana Iv'itor says, that, according to subsequent advices, the Commissioners had sailed in the ship Arcthuta, for Spain.
