A very valuable machine has lately been invented (and is now m opera tion) by Mr. Richard Ftenci, ol Morrisviiie, Penn. for cleansing ail i kind of grain and grass seeds. This machine cleanses the grain complete ly of the white cap, and al thc same time rubs off the dust that always adheres to grain, and is thc cause ol specks in dour. The grain at the r " - , r, samc time receives a hue poash -L opcrtcs equally on rye and buckwheat, cleansing it horn ail the dust and tuz which darken and cause grit in the tl-jur, and are so liable to fret the hoiting cloth. It is ttie opinion 01 number of millers, that one barrel ot ilour may be obtained more from everv one hundred bushels ot wheat, cleaned by this machine, than Lorn the samc quantity in thc usual way. This machine will icmain at Morrisviiie. for public inspection, a few weeks, after w hich it wiii be removed to IJrandvwine. Millers and others 0 who wish to make more and better Hour, (as there ii no less of grain) are invited to call and sec thc machine in operation. 1 beiicve they will not regret the time and trouble of so doing. Mr.chhic fjr crossing Rivtrs. Thc mechanist Xavier Michel, residing at Offenbach, has invented a very simple and compact machine, by the aid of which livers may be crossed, and even thc sea attempted, without any danger cf sinkimr It is marly fie lectin diameu r, when unfolded. An opening of about thirteen inches in thc centre is destined to icceivc the traveller. When dismounted this apparatus is easily transncrtcd f:cn: place to place, for its entire wcicrht scarcely exceeds five pcurds. The inventor has made a number of experiments on thc Rhine, all of which have been crowned with entire success. He can make the machine move forward or otherwise, at pleas urc, and without any great exertion. In order more fully to prove thc util - ity of las invention. M. Michel had
