The Duke Decazes, on Monday last, quitted the hotel of the Ministers to the great joy of the Ultra- Royalists. The brig Spartan arrived at a late hour last night, in 3 4 days from Cadiz, which she left on the 2d March Capt. Cowpcr informs that no important operations had taken place since our former accounts. Quiroga entered Malaga on the 1 8th Febuary, but was driven out on the following dav by O'Donuel, whose force consisted of 5,000 men. Quiroga had retired to Leon. It was bciieved at Cadiz that his whole army did not exceed G.000 men. The Royalist army in the neighborhood amounted to 15,000, commanded by Frcyrc. The people of Cadiz were ail in favor of the Constitutionalists. Gen. Frcyrc had been into the town, and arrested a number of the principal inhabitants, vvho were sent to Ceuta. Capt. The rince had struck the .captain of the guard for some irregularity, when the soldier fired and killed him.- After this, the house of Prince Muiey had been demolished by the populace, who found therein great quantities of gOid and silver. From Batavia We learn from a translation made for the Philadelphia Gazette, that the Dutcn government at batavia had received intelligence from Vice Admiral Wolterbeck, that the expedition against Palcmbang had failed for the p: esent owing to various causes among the rest are mentioned the constant rains w hich had caused much sickness among the Dtftch troops, strong currents and narrowness of the river, and the great preparations which had been made by the Sultan in erecting batteries on the banks of the river, protected by floating batteries', constructed of trees put together, forming heavy breastworks, with roofs placed upon the trunks of the trees, which afforded protection against balls, bombs, Sec. and piles driven across the whole breadth of the river, so close as not to allow a vessel to pass.
