THE FRIEND OF ALL. There is a charm in Frienships voice, A feeling dear to age and youth. Which bids the sorrowing soul rejoice. And lights th; flame of love and truth. If heaven -bright skies he overcast. Enshrouded with affliction's pall, When the d irk mists of woe have pass'd A Sun shall shine the FRIEND 0 ALL. Ar.d if, when verging to the tomb. No cheering ray of hope appear. To le the spirit through the gloom, And '.eidher to a happier sphere Yet still let even murmer die. And iv.ercies past to mind recall; Know there's a power enthron'd on high. The fervent, faithful, friend or all. O, after all the ills of life Tn sd succession flee away, Whv should the soul prolong her strife, Why wish in woe a longer stay ? Frve -. the air she wings her flight. For now no more can g'lilt enthral ; She h ails the source of life and light, L ThcONF ETERNAL FRIEND OF ALL. LOTHAIR. Fmm the Village Record, ADDRESS TO MY CIO v R.
