Our north eastern boundary, it is said, will he many miles farther north than has heretofore been supposed. It will extend so far as to completely cut off the communication between the provinces, and will embrace within our limits a considerable French settlement, which has formerly been under the jurisdiction of Canada. Portland Argus. CAUTIO.Y. Several mutilated bills on the U. S. bank, its branches, and other banks, have recently been presented at D. Shepherd's Exchange ofhee. The object of cutting ti e bills seems to be to make eleven notes out often notes of the same denomination. This is done by cutting one tenth from the first, two tenths from the second, and t!m e from the third note, and so on till all are cut ; annexing the first tenth cut from the first note to that from which two tenths were cut, and the two tenths of the bill fiom which three were cut, and so on, eleven bills wiH be for med, each one tenth shorter than a true one. The fraud may be detected by measurement, or the interruption occasioned in reading. Cincinnatti Adv.
