Miseries of Newspaper Printers. We can scarcely take up a ewspapcr now a-days, without noticing the complaints of the printers of the delinquency of their patrons Some threaten some coax, and one man has absolutely hanged himself because his subscribers did not pay. Now it is clear to us that all these aforesaid vrumblera are fools, and that the man who hanged, himself "was the greatest fool of ail. For our part, we are determined never aga?W fe offend the ears of our debtors by a dun ; , no 14 we wanted money ever so much, (and the constables know how much ire do want if1) we would not say one word anoui if in the newspaper Every m m best knows, or ought to know, his own concerns ; and every one of our patrons knows, or ought to know, when his inclination and his convenience suit to pay us (and if he do not we will make H:mj So that, wc sav, if we were about to starve to death for want of punctuality on the part of our customers, fwhich is unfortunately nearly the case now") we would not mentidn it because, it must be clear to the muddiest brain that you may write duns till " the cows comes home," and they will all meet with profound silent contempt and they Reserve it-' Such is the nobleness and Independence of men's minds that if money. a was as plenty as black berries," they would Bot yield it upon compulsion I . k Vermont Gaz. His neighbor thinks the same of him. But then their two kinds of madness do not interfere with each other. Now and then there comes an eccentric man wfco thinks them all mad ; him they catch & lock up that's my case." A dangerous malady prevailed at Nat chez about the end of September. In an official notice of the selectmen of the town, we find it stated, that it is not believed that people can safely inhabit or visit the city before frost ; and those whose avocations will admit of it, are advised, to remove and keep out ot town, bntil Providence shall please to bestow that desirable 'change of weather. The place of meeting of the new Legislature is in consequence, by a proclamation of the governor, changed from Natchez to Washington ; at which place the Legislature met on .Monday the 6th ultimo. Newspaper Postage, The abolition of the tax on Newspapers, in the shape of postage is proposed in Nile's Register. The duties of the Post office Department would be greatly simplified by such an arrangement, and the convenience of the people consulted. There must, however, be a limit to the circulation of newspapers ; for alteady their transmission is frequently delayed, because the mail would be, with them, too numerous for transput i atiou .It is. time to look, for a remedy for this difficulty; Nat.
