Various Letters have heen re reived in town from Galway, dated on Thursday lat. We shall give a:; extract Frottt a letter, received by one of the most respectable merchants in Dublin: tk This day, the town of Gafv. ay presented a most alarming scene. Art eminent merchant (Mr. Moore) was shipping oatmeal to Deny, having not agnard for its protection when a riotous mob assembled, and proceeded to 's house ; 6 not appearing, they bike his windows. From thence they proceeded to a mill, which they almost entirely destroyed. They also broke the windows of J. and J. Purke, and of every other person in whose possession they suspected either oatmeal or potatoes to be hoarded ; they also demolished their cars, carts, &c. and threw their scales and weights into the sea ; and were only appeased through the interposition ot Mr. Moore's father, he enoaoiivr the oatmeal should be reianded.', Extract (f another Letter. Galway. Jan. 9. We fear there will be a threat depression in the price of grain on Saturday, in consequence of the mob rising and declaring destruction to those in the corn trade. Some mills have been attacked and much mischief done to them by a riotous mob the widows of many bouses were broken The army was called upon but the mischief was partly over before they came. We cannot say there was any gieat activity shown by th.c magistrates ; they were hooted at ; the merchants were obliged to make parley, and promised to onload their eargoes ; in fact they were ah aid to appear, and acted by proxy."
