But to com per. fate our readers for the deficiency on til is icore, we have, by the politenefs of mr. Jennings, the plealurc of laying before our readers fome important documents concerning cur militia they wili, no doubt, be found interefting to many of you. We have within a few days pad, hear I a variety of reports refpecling Indians, none of which, we can at prefen! place confidence in ii information From the weft, it appears confiderable danger is apprehended in the Miffuuri and Illinois territory. A duel was fought on the 2Tth lilt, in this territory, between J. Taylor, and C L. Harrifon, both of the U. S. army, IMr. Hairifon was Qightly wounded. L. Corel.

IT is hereby made known that purfuant to an act of Congrefs, entitled " An acl providing for the faie of the lands of the United States in the Territory North W eft of the river Ohio, and above the mouth of Kentucky river," palled May fe yen teen th, one thoufand eight hundred and ninety-fix, and to the feveral ats amendatory to the fame, thr following tracls of land, the interefl on the arrears of the purchafe money whereof has not been paid on the days the fame became refpecltvely due, will be expofed to public (ale at Vincennes on the ninth and tenth days of May next, and fold to the higheft bidder on the conditions prescribed by the laid acts.

Jlalcimore, March 5. Extrac of a letter to the editor, dated Sackett'a Harbor, February, l 8th, 1814. There are fome expeditions of an attack from the Britifh ; but the troops here are well prepared to receive them. Our force is about 4000 regulars and iooo teamen, and it is daily augmenting. There are 430 carpenters buflly emplo) ed m completing three large veill's, two of which are to cany 32 guns each, and the third 44 ; they will be ready to lad in April, The keels of two others are laid, or.c to mount 4 t, to other 50 guns. Salem March 5. Ycfterctay arrived in this town, immediately embarked on board the cartel fhip Bollock, 260 BritKh troops, pri (oners of war too of them belonged to De VVattvill's German regt and wire captured lall (aH on lake Ontario by COttlmodore Chauncey. They left Pittsfield ten days lince. The Germans were remarkably (lout, hardy looking men.
