TTIK WESTERN SUN.

VINCENNES, JANUARY 11, 1812 The last mail did not furnish us with a single article of news from the continent. Ol the earthquake felt here on the 16th ult. all the papers from the Eastward mention as having been felt with little or no diminution in violence as far as Pittiburgh, beyond which no mention is made of it. From the westward as far as we have learnt it was felt with increased violence to I he south- west as far as Nashville it appears to have been much the same as here, beyond which no mention is made of it. If we were not now in war, he said he verily believed we soon should be. M.. Wright took the same ground with Mr. M'Kee and moved to amend the resolution by adding thereto words similar to the following : ' And if attacked by any vessel, contrary to the law of nations, to capture and bring them in for adjudication." Mr. Porter explained The proposed amendment would make the resolutions all ac' ct wr, w! ich it was not the intention of the committee to declare in thi report, or to commence untill they bad picp-jcu lor i:.
