WHEREAS, a treaty was made and concluded at Fort Wayne, on the 30th day of September laft, between tbe United States and the Delaware, Putawatamie, Miamie and Eel river tribes of Indians, Sc on the fame day a feparate, article was entered into between the parties, which was duly ratified by the prefident of the United States, by and with the advice and confent of the fenate, on the 2d day of January in the pre lent year, and is as follows : A feparate article entered into at Fort Wayne, on the SOth day of September, in the year of our Lord, 1809, between William Henry Harrifon, commilfioner plenipotentionary of the United States for treating with the Indian tribes, and the Sachems and chief warriors of the Miamie and Eel river tribes of Indians, which is to be confidered as forming part of the treaty this day concluded between the United States and the faid tribes, and their allies the Delawares and Putavvatamies. As the greater part of the lands ceded to the United States, by the treaty this cay concluded, was the exclufive property of the Miamie nation, and guaranteed to them by the treaty of Groufelaud, it is confidercd by the faid commiffioner jutt and reafenable that their requell to be allowed fome further and additional compenfation fhould be complied with. It is therefore agreed that the United States fhall deliver for their ufe, in the courfc of next fpring at Fort Wayne, domcfiic animals to the amount of 500 dollars, and the like number for the two following years, and that an armory fhillbe alfo maintained at Fort Wayne for the ufe of the Indians as heretofore. It is alio agreed that if the Kickapoos confirm the ninth article of the treaty to which this is a fupplcment, the United States will allow to the Miamies a further permanent annuity of 200 dollars, and to the Wea U. Eel river tribes a further annuity of 100 dollars each. WHERE AS a certain convention between the United States and the Wea tribe of Indians, was concluded and figned at Vincennes, in the Indiana territory on the 26th day of October laft paft, and was duly ratified and confirmed by the prefident ot the United States, on the 2d day of Janu ary, in the year of our Lord, 1810, by and with the advice and confent of the fenate, which convention is as follows : A Convention entered into at Vincennes in the Indiana territory, between William Henry Harrifon, Commiflinner Plenipotentiary of the United States, for treating with the Indian tribes north weft of the Ohio, and the Wea tribe. The faid tribe, by their Sachems and head Warriors, hereby declare their full and free confent to the treaty concluded at Fort Wayne, on the 30th ultimo, by the above mentioned Commifiionerf with the Delaware, Miami, Putawatimie, and Eel river tribes; and alfo to the ieparate article entered into on the fame day, with the Miami and Eel river tribes And the faid Commiffioner on the part of the United States, agrees to allow the faid tribe an additional annuity of 300 dollars, and a prefent fum of 1500 dollars, in confideration of the relinquishment made in the fit ft article of faid treaty, and a further permanent annuity of 100 dollars, as foon as the Kickaporis can be brought to give their confent to the 9th article of faid treaty.
