THE WESTERN SUN. Mr. Robert Reynold's communication has been received, and shall have a place in our next. Another Revolutionary Star extinguished. On the 9th May, departed this life in Hingham (Mass.) major general BENJAMIN LINCOLN, aged 78, as full of honor as ripe in years. His revolutionary deeds ; his measures in the suppression of the western insurrection ; his various and eminent services in the councils and departments of the United States and of his native commonwealth ; his undeviating patriotism ; his political & moral rectitude the incorruptible integrity of his heart, and his life of piety, are themes which will command pens able to do them justice. We shall therefore not attempt the great and good man's eulogy. In a New-Orleans piper of the 5th of April, and on the authority of letters from Natchez, it is stated, 'that general Wade Hampton has given the command of the troops to colonel Cushing, and is about to proceed to the uorihwarJ, for the benefit of his health. Having received information that several vessels hid been fitted and armed within the waters of the U. S. with intent to cruise against the subjects of foreign prince with whom the U. S. are at peace, government has issued instructions to institute prosecutions against all persons whatever who may have been or shall hereafter be concerned in the fitting out and arming of any such vessel or in the augmenting of the force of any such vessel.
