WESTERN SUN.

VINCENNES, (I. T.) FROM THE PRESS OF E. STOUT.

[ Vol. II. ]

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 23,1809.

[ No. 47. ]

FOR THE WESTERN SUN.

TO THE CITIZENS OF COUUNTY. Fellow Citizens,

CONCEIVING it no less my duty than I assure you is a pleasure; I now thus publickly inform you the proceedings of our last Legislature. I have adopted the medium of the press, as being the surest means of giving general information, as from the dispersed situation of our settlements its impractable for me to afford myself the singular zest of an individual communication—I know that inconveniences attend this manner of my rendering my account because a respectable portion of my fellow citizens do nottake the Western Sun, yet it is the best practicable mode, and therefore proper to be pursued ; and as the above inconvenience does exist, I hope my fellow citizens who do take the Sun, will communicate my present address to such of

their neighbors as do not.
