Ay ACT extending the right of fuflferage in the Indiana Territory and for opurpolVs. BE it enacted by the' Senate and House

of Representatives of the United States of

America, tn Congress assembled. That the citizens of the Indiana Tcnitory, entitled to vote for the reprtfentatives to the general aflembly thereof, ihall, at the time of electing their reprelentatives to the frtid general afTcmbly, alio elett one delegate from the faid territory to the Conurefs of the United States, who fliall pofiVfs the fame powers heretofore granted to the dele gates from the feveral territories of the United States : any thing in the ordinance for the government of the faid territory to the contrary notwithflanding. Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That the flieriffs of the feveral counties whiih now are, or may hereafter be eftibliflied in the faid territory refpectively, (lull, within forty d ays next after an election for a delegate to Congrefs, tranfmit to the fecretary of the territory a certified copy of the returns from the feveral townfhips in their counties refpectively. And it fliall be the duty of the governor, for the time being, to give to the pcrfon having the greatell number of votes, a certificate of his election. sec. 3.
