No Subscription will be received for a less term than one year and will not be discontinued until all arrearages are paid. JOURNALS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE INDIANA TERRITORY, (Continued.) Mr. Johnston laid before the House the petition of Robert Huston, and others, citizens of Knox county, praying that slavery may not be admitted into this Territory, and that the Delegate to Congress be instructed to this effect. On Motion, Refsolved that the said petition be refered to the committee formerly appointed to take into consideration the several petitions respecting slavery. Mr. Johnston from the committee to whom were refered so much of the report,

A bill refpefting the revifed code of this Territory, and for other purpofes, which being read. On motion, Refolved that the faid bill be read a fecond time now. On motion, Refolved that the faid bill be commit, ted to a committee of the whole Houfr, and made the order of the day for to-mor row. The Houfe according to the order of the day refclved itfclf into a committee f the 'whole Houfe, on the bill from the Legifla. tive Council, an aft fupplimental to an act entitled an ail regulating the practice in the General court and courts of Common Pleas, and for other purpofes, and after fome time fpent therein mr. Speaker refumed the chair, and mr. Jones reported that the committee had according to order had the faid bill under confide! ation, and

On motion, Refolved that the Clerk do carry the

cil, and inform them that this Houfe have made fome amendments to the faid bill to
which they defire the concurrence of the
Legiflative Council; The Houfe according to the order of
the day refolved itfclf into a committee of
the whole Houfe, on the bill for the relief
of Nicholas Jarror, and after fome time fpent therein mr. Speaker refumed the
chair, and mr. Johnftori reported that the committee had according to order had the faid bill under conGderatitn and made no

Speaker refumed the chair, and mr. Mcflinger reported that the committee had according to order had the faid bill under confederation and made feveral amendments thereto, which he de livered in at the Clerks table where thr fame being feverally twice read was agreed toby the Houfe. On motion, Refolved that the faid bill be engroff ed for a third reading to-morrow. Mr. Johnfton from the committee of enrolled bills, reported that the faid committee had according to order prefented to his excellency the Governor for his approba
tion the act to form a n?w county out of
the counties of Knox and Clark. Ordered that the Clerk do inform the Legiflative Council thereof. The further orders of the day being poftponed until ts-morrow the Houfe adjourned until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock Thurfday 13th Ofl. 1808.

Mr. Speaker laid before the Houfe the petition of Robert Robinfon and others, citizens of this Territory, praying that flavery may not be admitted into Lid Territory ; and that the Delegate to Congrefs be inftrudted to thiscflccL On motion, Refolved that the faid petition be re fered to the committee formerly appointed to take into confideration the feveral petitions refpedling flavery. Mr. Johnfton laid before the Hoafe tin petition of James Knight and others, citizens of Dearborn county, praying for thr formation of a new county out of the faid county of Dearborn Mr. Johnfton laid before the Houfe the
petition of George Leach and others, citi zen of this Territory, praving that flavery
may not be admitted into faid Territory.

in a bill, to alter and amend an act regu
lating county.lcvies, and that rotffrs. Jones
and Meflinger be a committee to prepare and bring in the fame, whereupon mr. Jones from the faid committee reported, a bill to alter and repeal certain parts of an
act entitled a law to regulate county levies,
the fame being read.
On motion, Refolved that the faid bill be read a
fecond time now.
