REVOLUTIONARY CLAIMS.

AN ACT for the relief of" certait surviving Officers and Soldiers the Army of the Revolution. t,\" Be it enacted bij the Senate Sf House, m: of Representatives of the United States •f of America in Congress assembled.

That each of the sui viving officers ol the armv of the Revolution in the Con tinentafLine, who was entitled to liai! pay by the resolve of October twentyfir.t,seventeen hundred and eighty, be authorized to receive, out ot any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the amount of his full S" pay in said line, according fb his rank in the line, to begin with the thud day of March, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-six, and to con. m,: tinue during his natural lite: P™1'1' ded, That, under this act, no officer V" shall be entitled to receive a largei sura than the full pay of a Captain in said line.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That, whenever any ot said officer.* has received money of the United States, as a pensioner, since the third day of March, one thousand ei.wht hundred and twenty-six, atoresatd, the sum so received shall be de0 ducted from what said officer would, otherwise, be entitled to, under the first section of this act and every pension to which said officer is now entitled, shall cease after the passage of this act.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That every surviving non-commis sioned officer, musician, or private, in said armv, who enlisted therein for and during the war, and continued in its service until its termination, and thereby becajue entitled to receive a reward of eighty dollars, under a resolve of Congress, passed May 15th, seventeen hundred and seventy-eight, shall b. entitled to receive his full monthly pay in said service, out of any money in the

Treasury not otherwise appropriaitcd: to begin on the third day ol March, one thousand eight hundred and twentv-six, and to continue durin^ his natural life: Provided, that no °non-coinmi«9ioned officer, musician, or private, in said army, who is row on the pension list of the United

States, shall be entitled to the benefits of this act. Sec. 4. And be it farther enacted, That the pay allowed by this act ohall, under the direction of the Secre tar of the Treasury, be paid to the Officer or Soldier entitled thereto, or to their authorized attorney, at such places and days as the Secreta~ rv may direct and that no foreign ofjjfeer shall be entitled to said pay nor shall any officer or soldier receive the same, until he furnish to

The "Act for the relief of certain surviving Officers and Soldiers of the ^Revolution," approved on the 15th day of May, 1828, (of which the fore* jroing is a copy.) will be carried into effect under the following regulations:

Kach officer claiming' under the iict, will transmit to the Secretary of the Treagurr a declaration, according to the form hereunto annex'.' marked A. and each non-commission-ed ojjiccry musician and private, according to the form marked B, accompanied by the oath of two respectable witnesses, as to his identity, which oath to be taken before a Justice of the Peace, or other Magistrate, duly empowered to administer oaths in the State or Territory in which he resides, and authenticated u'jder the seal of the Court of1 the County in which the oath was administered a* shown in the said forms.

Kach officer will also transmit his commission, if in existence and attainable, and each non-commissioned officer, musician and private, his discharge which documents, after bei^g registered, will be returned, if

And I also declare, that 1 afterwards received a certificate (commonly called a commutation certificate) for a sum equal to.the amount ol five years' full pay which sum was offered by the resolve of Con gress,*of the 22d of March, 1783. instead of the half pay for life, to which I was entitled under the resolve of the 21st of October, 1780. -^1
