HfllS town, situated on the Wabash river, at the head of Steam Boat navigation, is perhaps one of the most etligible sites for a commercial town on this river. It being at a point six miles above the mouth of the Tippecaooe, the contemplated termination of the WABASH CANAL, immediately on its line and the point at which it will terminate until it may be found necessary to carry it much further down the river than at present proposed. And by a reference to the Map of the State, it will he discovered, that it is one of the points at which the W abash approaches nearest to Indianapolis, it is not therefore asserting too much, to say that DELPHI at no distant day, will be the place of deposit for a large portion of the trad^of the states of Indiana and Illinois, in its transit to and from an Atlantic market And no place in the West is superior to the surrounding country, in point of soil, timber and pure springs of lime stone wfter.

Baum's Point, the site of E is formed by a junction of Deer creek and the Wabash which creek is not surpassed by any stream in tlu state, as a mill stream affording th most valuable sites for water works, in the immediate vicinity of the to ah to any extent that may be required
