Liquor Kiuiiii Maine! t)\E WAf! KILLED.
A correspondent of a certain shhfct, "one who knows,” too— attempts to demolish the Reveille and its circulation, in bis last issue. He says, "that the Mt Sterling Ditislon of Sons of Temperance donated fifty cents to 'every man who would , subscribe to thi: Reveille, and that by Ibis means we got the subscribers we have; at Mt, Sterling.” This statement is false; the Division has not donated one cent to any one of our subscribers at that place. The same writer says, "that the Reveille fcas only 30 'Subscribers in Jefferson township, outside of Vevay; and that the News has 73 or 77.” This statement is equally false; the Reveille has 133 subscribers in Jefferson township, outside of Vevay. Take 77 from 135, and it leaves the Reveille 68 subscribers mote than the News! And the Reveille is not gittn away, either. Such falsehoods may please some of the readers of that sheet, but they will not suit the honest and intelligent people of Switzerland county. A cause that lakes such means as Uiis to keep it. afloat, must be bad.
