Outrage in Elizabethtown. Wo learn from the TnieUtgcnccr that Ctt Thursday of last week, Mr. Watkins* stage-driver between Elizabethtown and this city, fras shot while walking on tho street, by Stephen H. Hays, with a double barrelled shot-gun. Mr. Watkins was badly wounded in the hand* and several shot passed through the fleshy part of his thigh. No cause is assigned for the act —as no difficulty had prcvionly existed between tho parties.- Hays was drank and had been promenading the'streets (a custom here) with his gun on lus shoulder, enrsing and threatening almost every man he met. Although o warrant was promptly issued for his arrest, he was jtemiitted to escajic. The warrant was served, but a friend loaned Hays a five-shooter, advising him to resist,-*** Louisville Courier,
