or more unfortunate mistake, and it is well to guard against it. A new desire will be created and the fall will crush you. We place no restraint upon our patients; they are at perfect liberty during the course of the treatment, provided, of course their condition is such as will allow of this, but it is absolutely necessary they report to the doctor for treatment at the hours arranged for such. We reiterate that there is no case of alcoholism, morphine or tobacco, no matter of how many years standing, that we cannot guarantee to cure effectively. Dr. Novitas B. Aspinall, the physician in charge of the Sanitarium and Hospital, is a gentleman well versed in the knowledge of medicine. For more than twenty years he has made a special study of alcoholic and drug addictions, and during that period has successfully administered treatment to thousands of patients. He stands high in the estimation of his fellow physicians, many of whom have sought his services in the treatment of their patients for these addictions. Besides his hospital duties he has a large and successful general practice, his services being called into requisition in all parts of Marshall county. His splendid social qualities, ideally fit him for the treatment of patients committed to his care. He is sympathetic, and makes a special study of the temperament of each patient who passes through his hands. He receives many letters from his expatients and their families, who

That the liquor habit is a disease is an uncontrovertable fact. That it can be permanently and effectively cured by our vegetable treatment has been made abundantly evident by the successes which have attended our efforts. During a period extending over twenty-five years we have treated over fifteen thousand patients for the alcohol, morphine and tobacco habits of whom ninety percent have been cured for all time. We keep a record of every patient who comes to The Plymouth Sanitarium and Hospital for treatment and are in touch with them after they leave here, and by this means are enabled to arrive at a correct estimate. A most important feature of our treatment, over all others, is that it leaves no bad or injurious effects. This has been proven beyond peradventure by patients who have come here after having taken treatment at other institutions and have left us full of enthusiasm and better fitted to enter the new life than they had ever previously been. All mental depression or physical prostration is eliminated by our treatment which leaves the patient rejuvenated and enthusiastic over the grand results which have been attained in his case. Patients have come to us from all parts of the United States and Canada, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, have come filled with despair, but after spending three weeks in the Sanitarium and Hospital have gone back into the world, regaining

the respect of their fellow men and restored to a loving family, clean in body and in soul, and with a newly born ambition which means his ultimate success in life. The truly remarkable cures effected at the Plymouth Sanitarium and Hospital have been a source of comment in all communities in which patients have lived. Men in all walks of life have been treated by us, and we have received thousands of testimonials in appreciation of our effective work, which, however, for obvious reasons, we do not make public, but can be seen at our office by anyone so desiring. Again we say, we can cure you absolutely. When the patient leaves here he is as free from the desire to return to the old life, and habit, as a newly born child, as the liquor or drugs have been completely and effectively eliminated from his system. The nerves, brain and stomach are restored to their normal condition, while the eyes are left bright and clear. His step is elastic and his confidence in himself to once again "make good" is unbounded. To such the world assumes an entirely new aspect, and he concludes that, after all, it is a good place to live in. It is difficult to account for even the few lapses after taking our treatment. Environment, no doubt, has something to do with it; again some men are vicious while others again think they are strong enough to "take one" and leave it alone. They never could commit a greater

have been made happy by his treatment of the former while under his care in the sanitarium. The Plymouth Sanitarium and Hospital is three stories, with basement, in which are located the offices, club room, laundry, electric switch room, doctors room, and dispensary. The first floor is devoted to the capacious dining room, kitchen, pantry, linen room, main reception room, offices and private wards. The second floor will contain wards and rest room. The third floor has rest rooms, wards, sanitary medical instrument room, sanitary operating room, etc. The building is of reinforced concrete, and the construction veneered with buff pressed brick. All floors and stairways are of concrete, and the building is absolutely fire proof throughout. It is installed with a three wire grounded Edison system of conduit wiring, which is so arranged that the hospital can adopt its own system whenever it is found necessary to do so. Telephones have been installed throughout the building with both city and long distance connections. There are baths and toilets on every floor, for both men and women. The building is steam heated throughout. A new feature, and quite an important one, is the installation of the Pilot Light Nurse Call system. This system does away with the ringing of bells, and is much easier to operate. Tungsten lights have been installed throughout the entire building.
