Wheels on the Sidewalks. On Decoration day the Misses

Julia Yockey and Tressie L:nkenhelt were walking " on Michigan street when a rider on a bicycle came

along behind them and ran into Miss

Linkenhelt knocking her down, but

giving her no serious injuries. The bicycle rider was not only breaking

the law but wa inexcusably regard

less of the welfare of others. Small boys, and larger ones, on their wagons are becoming a menace to those walking on the sidewalks. Frequently they come along at top speed and one can only escape being run into by making a hasty leap from the sidewalk. .

Special Service of Song. The services next Sunday morning at the Presbyterian church will consist largely of sacred music which has been requested. The choir has been making special preparation for the occasion, which promises to be very enjoyable to all who attend. In connection with it the pastor will

speak on "Christian Hymns as Lit

erature."

On account of the baccalaureate

services at night, there will be no

service at the Presbyterian church,

that those who desire may attend at

the Methodist church. The Endeavor socity, however, will meet at 6 o'clock for their service, adjourning

in time to attend the other service.

Lightning Kills Jew.

In 1906 lightning killed only 169 people in this whole country. One's chances of death by lightning are less than two in a million. The chance of death from liver, kidney or stomach trouble is vastly greater but not if Electric Bitters be used, as Robert Madsen, of West Burlington, la., proved. Four doctors gave him up after eight months of suffering from virulent liver trouble and yellow jaundice. He was then completely cured br Electric Bitters.

They're the best stomach, liver, Matthew,

nerve and kidney remedy and blood purifier on earth. Only 50c at Fred Wenzler?s.

The auditorium was filled to overflowing and more than a hundred were turned away, the door being locked to prevent too great a jam. Although the evening was a delightful one, the room was oppressively hot on account of the crowd that pushed its way in, filling the seats and all the standing room. The orchestra, the instrumental music and the solos were received with rounds of applause. Grace Mil-

ner was encored on her singing of

the "Japanese Maiden," and Lillian

Hahn as also on her rendering of

Poe 's "The Raven." The audience

seemed to think these two especially good. The recitation by Violet Singrey was also finely done. The decorations were not elaborate, but the real trees and branches and other decorations. The play was well given throughout and was

a splendid departure from the usual program on an occasion of this kind. The members of the class promoted are: Oliver Ager, Helen Viola Amones, Charles Eugene Buck, Fannie Otitilia Chart, Arthur Mortland Cleveland, Glen Sylvester Cox, Grace Leona Curtis, Faye Marie Denney, Ruth Eva Davis, Elmer Albertus Fisher, Lillian Mary Hahn, Erwin Arthur Haag, Cletis Melvin Hammaker, Harry Fred Houghton, Carol Ione Humrichouser, Mary Winfield Johnon, Philip Long, Agnes May Massena, Mabel Fern Miller, Grace Ethel Milner, Evangeline Etta Dee Lillian
