New York Marine Co cm. A steerage passenger, lately arrived from London in the hip Greenock recovered fifty dollars d.miges on Tuesday in this court, fiom the male fthat vessel. From the statement of the captain it appeared that several invalid passenger? had been assigned to a separate aparlmenl, which the other passengers were forbidden to enter. One of the passengers whose wife was nmonsr iho sick, requested plaintiff to visit her, and administer soda water. While doing this the defendent came down and ordered the plaintiff ou., at tlie
same time striking him and kicking him after lie was down. The judge chargtd the jury that a pnssenscnger on board a ship is entitled to the same protection as on land, and that the m ite has no right to inflict punishment under any circumstances. A verdict was accordingly given for the plaintiff with damages as above.
