The offence, of the victim, was ideal, the acruer under t!ie intlnence of il ichus, as executioner, indicted severe chastisement. Having transcended his duty, the grand jury ordered the case up before the circuit court, by indictment; where, after a lull investigation, a jury of hi country, '"took him by the heels" (in the .language of an old 1 iw giver.) and ordered mr." Grimes to pay a line of iiAy d .llars. to aid o ir jcininary on Mount Folly. This, is the second case, from " Uynch's - vj-.t," the first one was inDearborn county w'acre sonie four or five persons were lined ,$3. each, for inflicting a Gnonc il.igging on a fellow who richly do-erved it.
One civil case, of s me importance, was
brougat before the court, in the shape ot an
appeal from tne decision ol a board of tow n

does not give township trustees power to va
cale roads, consequently the proceedings of said trustees, relative lo said road, are null and void, and ought to be crjvtngcri, that's the word, from their records.
