The model is drawn on a scale ef two inches to the foot the workmanship is execute I in the neatest style, and altoget'.:cr creditable to the ingenuity of the inventor. The machine may be propelled by ei'.h. r steam, horse,. or water power; or for the purpose of breaking flax, may be worked by hand. One great advantage this machine possesses overall others-of the kind, is that of a pounder, by which the stalk of the hemp or (lax is" broken, without injuring the lint. After being thus pounded, it passes through the breaks, which turns out the hemp or llax. nearly or quite ready for tbe halehel.
