Slacking. On lhe morning of Tuesday last, Mr. Thompson, merchant of Fianklio, unfortunately mistook the keg he was accustomed to nee in conveying ashes from the stove, far one that cou. tained about Iwo pounds of damHged powder. While in the act of discharging the ashes frhen the keg, his body leaning over it, into the street, the powder exploded, and killed him instantaneously ; his face was litteially torn off.
