LIFELINES ‘‘Pentecost” i This Sunday will be observed in most churches across our land as Pentecost. This is the commonly accepted birthday of the New Testament Christain ’Church. The Scriptural account is recorded for us in Acts chapter Two. The Holy Spirit decended on that day in which those present “were all with one accord in one place.” He came in a sound, to awaken them; in a wind, to move them; in a fire, to enlighten and warm | them; and in tongues, to make them speak. Pentecost is great enough, important enough, and inspiring enough to be commemorated with all eomestness and devotion by every’ believer throughout all Christendom. “At Pentecost all life, language, culture, national genius, art, science, philosophy - All is gathered into a common center, Christ, and then it goes out from that •ommon center to tell, each in its own lanuage,..the wonderful works of Cod.” Pentecost was preceded by prayer, precipitated by prayer, and can only be perpetuated by prayer. , Have you prayed for your own personal Pentecost? .< — - - - ===== " H B.
