O.E.S. Seats New Officers Walkerton Chapter 319 Order of the Eastern Star held their public installation Saturday. Mar. 31 at the Masonic Temple. Mr. and Mrs Edward Petersen were installed as Worthy Matron and Patron The chapter room de* or carried out the new Worthy Matrons colors of blue and white, with a white shadow box with scalloped cdg<*s in front of the east dais a white Bible against a blue silk background inside the box. Her motto, "Truth Never Changes" in blue letters was enclo.** d in a white oblong s< alloped frame hung on the backdrop in the East. M-mb*us of the Bible Ceremony who had acted on the hospitality committee for the evening and will serve as Mrs. Petersen’s Bible Staff this year were intnxluced, Mrs. Warner Clark, Mrs William Rhodes, Mrs. Carl Gjemre Jr Mrs Lee Chapman. Mrs. John Petersen and Miss Audrey Dolph Mrs. Walter Jackson and Alfred Drews presented the past matron and patron jewels to Mrs. Di pert and Mr McCombs While the latter two signed the memory pages of the Holy Bible, Miss Janice Dipert sang "God s Rainbow Shines For You." Rev. Owen gave a short talk complimenting Mrs. Petersen on her choice of motto and said Truth of God and His teachings never changes even though we have changes in everything else. * ft er remarks of

thanks and appreciation by installing officers and ochers, Mrs. Petersen closed the installation. Following the retiring of the officers, a reception was held on the first floor. The large tea table was lovely with a blue tulle ruffled skirt and white cloth. A bowl of white carnations, flanked by blue tapers, centered the table. Mrs. Jack Hannagen and Mrs, Raymond McCarthy presided at the two silver tea services Dainty sandwiches, nut meats and coffee were served. A false ceiling of blue and white streamers formed a canopy over the entire room. Blue and white styrofoam j*tars and arrows were hanging from the ends of each streamer around the room. A large lighter star with the emblems was in the east end of the room bf«fore a blue background A large frame was in the west end of the room covered with blue material and white carnations formed Mrs Petersen's watchwords "Friendship and Love" on this background. The gift tables were in w-hite with blue carnations on the skirts. Holmes, Walkerton, made the first semester Dean's List at Morehead State College. Virginia was one of 336 students who made 3.0 or better during the first semester. Virginia made 3.4. "We are extremely proud of all the students who made such outstanding records during the first semester," said Dr. Adorn Doran, president of Morehead.
