Indians Top Shamrocks 72-65 Friday Walkerton's Indians returned to the basketball wars Friday the County Tourney and topped in their first action following their arch rival North Liberty. The final score of 72-65 pretty well explained the game as Walkerton led moot of the way. Only tlie emytying of the bench in the final minute by coach Howard pulled the Shamrocks within less than ten points of the Indians. The game was fairly tight in the first half until a spurt in the final minute of the second quarter gave the Indians an eight point lead by halflime. Wharton. Liberty’s big gun. started the •coring with a basket from out front. Ruas Jones matched this •hot and Tom Chudanov, who had a very fine rught. hit a free throw and then a basket for a 6-2 lead Solmoa popped in a lung one and Butch Smtih followed with a free throw. Ludwig hit from cluae in and Solmos hit oneg^again from out front. Chudanov stuffed Ln another free throw for the Shamrocks. After Smith's free throw, a basket by Wolf cut the lead to 11-two-pointer and Wolfe made a 10 but Smith oame back with two more charity shots Ludwig •cored again and Cohee tossed in a jumper. Wharton'® free throw ended the find quarter with the Indians on top 15-13. Wolff tied the >*ore a® the second /(uart«T began, but the Indians began working the ball around nicely f (W - he easy shots against Liberty® cone. Ludwig was fouled and hit two free thrws and then put in a basket n which he was fouled. He hit Ous free throw nlw and th*•core waa 20-15 .Miller hit two foul shots for the Shamrot ks but Chudanov stuffed in another from the corner. After Wharton tosjjed in another long. Jone* hit from out front and then Chudanov flipped two more bankets from the side This six point splurge was dimmed by three qoieg Liberty baskets two by Wharton and one by Miller, dtudanov hit one of tWo free throw attempts and Whbrton cut the lead to two point a with nother® basket Quick backets Jones. Ludwig and Chudanov, the Latter coming with jtwt seconds left as he stole the pass in bounds. This made the halftime score read 35-27. Rainbows Install Nancy Cripe As Worthy Advisor A capacity crowd witnessed the public installation of the Walkerton Rainbow Assembly No 64 at the Masonic Temple Saturday wening. Miss Nancy Sue Crip-, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Charles Cripe Jr., was installed as Worthy Advisor. Mjss Cripe'g colors of pink and white were carried out in the decorations. White bowls of punk rosea and while carnations were in the East and West. At the north and south stations, white crosses and pink roses ware placed. A large white archway was in the East with the theme "She has gone before” m pink letters on the arch. The watchwords, "We will meet again' were in pink on the white arch, hanging in the West In front of the East station a silver cross and pink roses rested < n the white .satin cloth. Moa Crijie. Wearing a bouffant skirted floorlength gown of pink net and lace received her obligation at thr altar from Alfred Drews, the assembly "pop”. Installing officers were: Woraker; marshal.
