Fall Theme Used By Local Business Women A fall theme, beginning with the guests being served cider as they arrived, was carried out in the decor of the first fall meeting of the Business and Profesgional Women's Club, Thursday evening, September 28 at the Town Club. The dining tables were in fall colors, using gourds, co'ored leaves, arrangements of fall flowers and bits of halloween ideas here and there, Forty-eight ladies enjoved the roast beef dinner. Guests introduced were Mrs. Lee Welch, Mrs. William Carter, both of Walkerton, and Mrs. Matt Wiezork, of Grovertown. Two new members were presented by the membership chairman, Mrs. V. B. Wolfe. They were Miss Janet Bierly and Mrs. Paul Jones, The door prize was awarded to Mrs. Thomas Ramacher. The club will again participate in the annual Halloween party for the ymm;:g!o'rs. A game of charades of music titles was plaved by groups of five and much hidden talent was discovered, which added to the fun. So many answered the birthday call that the “Pig"” will prob-. ably have to be butchered before he is full grown. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Ken Wray, Mrs. Mary Bauer, Mrs. Stanley Hostetter, Mrz. Eugene Hewitt, Mrs. Edward Peterson, Mrs. Leslie Hohna ke, Mrs. Richard Anderson Sr., Mrs. Hazel Luke, Mrs. Van Janovie and Mrs. Bonnie Sullivan. 0. E. 8 0. - WSCS Enjoys - - Picnic Meeting (The September meeting of the Women's Society of Christian Service was a %n&c held at the home of Mrs, | Skinner, with Mrs. George Seitz, Mis. Orville Klinedinst and Mrs. Forest Stahly assisting. The hostesses served hamburgers, each guest bringing a covered dish. A bountiful meal was enjoyed. The president, Mrs. Stanley Or. cutt, opened the meeting with a prayer and welcomed such a nice group. The Church-wide supper and bazaar for November 15th was discussed and it was decided to have another Smergasbord, but to serve chicken pie. Mrs. Orcutt reminded the officers of an executive meeting on October 10, 8 p.m. at the church and on October 6, the Sub-dis-trict meeting in South Bend at the Stull Memorial Church, Mrs. Tunis gave a report on the Minister's Wives Retreat she attended. Mrs. Clyde Bick reported on the School of Missions held at DePauw that she and Mrs. Tunis attended. By her program books for the year, she has shown us many new ideas. We were proud to learn the South Bend district has 23 societies and is the farth.

The next general meeting will - be October 25th with the women of the Trinity Church in South Bend as our guests, A very appropriate poem in memeory of Mrs. William Hornaday and Mrs. Ray Cripe was read by Mrs. John Northam. Mrs. Albert Schutz was program chairman and had the worship table decorated as a Christinas in September, with a Christmas tree, bells, candles, star, carolers, a Nativity scene, and a gift box with pictures of the Wise Men with their gifts for the Christ Child. The gifts from the box go to the Campbell Friendship House, Gary; Brookshaven Home in North Carolina and foreign missions. Mrs, Tom Frame, Mrs. Don Weil, Mrs. Ray Chapman, Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn, Mrs. Charles Worrell, Mrs. Emmet Eiler, Mrs. Albert Huhnke Jr., and Mrs. Ed Hostetler, presented large Christmas cards with bells, carolers, Nativity scenes, poinsettias, ivy, holly. wreaths, Christmas trees, candles and stars, and told of the legends of other countries. Mrs. Clyde Chapman gave the devotions. Safety Makes Sense.

- List Models For . Fashion Show Travel will be the theme used at the fourth annual Fashion Show and dessert card partv of the St. Patrick Women's Club Thursday night at the school hall here. The party will begin at 7:30 pm. with fashions knits, imports, hats and accessories shown first by Levine's Boston Store, LaPorte, Professional mode's furnished by the store will be used for the adult showing while the children's apparel will be modeled by children of the club members. Chiidren mode'ing are Kelly Shireman and Dennis VanWanzeele, in sizes three to sßiXx; Jane Powell, Mary Ellen Zboril, Mark Ma'staff and Brian Harder In sizes 7 to 14, and Brenda Lenz and Elaine Knowlton in sub téen fashions. a showing of how to pack a bag, what to take on a holiday trip. Mrs. Ora Harder is general chairman of the affair with Mrs. Howard Knowlton in charge of the fashions and models. Mrs. Frank Kramer is tuk’ing care of the travel motif used in decore ations and program with Mre Harry Malstaff in charge of the door prizes, favors and individual table prizes. Any choice of cards or bunco will be available fop the guests, Refreshments will be served following the fashion show by Mrs. Albert VanWanzeele and her committee, Mrs. Howard Tute tle is in charge of refreshments and Mrs. Devan Holland, kitchen, Setting up the tables is Mrs. Charles Neary and her commits tee. Mrs. James Zboril is ticket chairman. This annual affair has proven a tremendous success here with more than 200 persons always ate tending. Tickets are available from any club member at the doar.
