Room mothers will meet Tuesday, October 10 at 2 p.m. in the teachers lounge of the Elementary building. Mrs. Clyde Snodgrass has announced that the eye screening will Be held October 16 and 17. Our student population is on the Mmcrease. 218 pupils are registered in the High SBchool and 48 pupils in the eighth grade. Enrolled in grades one thru seven there are 419 pupils and we have 60 pupils In kindergarten, making a total of 743 students in the two buildings. Miss Irene Licille Isgrigg, 600 Monroe St, Walkerton, became the bride of Walter Klimek Jr., 1118 W. Indiana Ave, Ssuth Bend, Saturday, Septembr 30th, in the Walkerton Methodist Church at 2 o'clock. Rev. J. Kemp Tunis, pastor of the church, officiated at the double ring ceremony. Pink and white gladioll decorated the altar, the pews were marked with bows of pink and white. Nuptial music was played by Mrs. Robert Trempert, of Indianapolis, The soloists were David and Ruth Smith, of Churubusco, Ind. The bride, given in marriage by her father, Rev. Paul N. Isgrigg. of Crawfordsville, Ind., chose a ballerina gown of white Chantilly lace and tulle over taffeta. The lace bodice with long pointed sleeves had a scalloped modified V-neckline accented with sequins. A bouffant apron effect of lace topped the circular skirt of tulle. Her veil of silk illusion fell from @ crown of sequins. She carried a White orchid with pink sweetheart roses and streamers on a white Bible. Miss Rachel Isgrigg, sister of the bride, of Crawfordsville, was maid of honor. Her gown ‘was of pink chiffon over taffeta with a lace jacket. Her headplece was a pink clip bow with a circular veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations and pink roses. Little Miss Cynthia Klimek, South Bend, cousin of the groom, served as flower girl. Bhe wore a pink nylon dress. Mrs. Jesse Wisler, LaPorte, was in charge of the reception, and Miss Mary Wisler, LalPorte, and Miss Lou Anne Creech of Walkerton, presided at the punch bowl and served the cake. Miss Carolyn Mann, Walkerton, had charge of the guest book. After a short Wwedding trip to southern Indiana, the couple will be at home at 1118 W. Indiana Ave. South Bend, where the groom operates a car repair and body shop. The bride is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Paul Isgrigg, Crawfardsville, a former minister of the Walkerton Pilgrim Holiness Chruch. She graduated in 1854 from the Charlottsville, Indiana High School. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Klimek Sr., of South Bend, and has served two years in the U. 8. Army. : Chamber To To October 19th The Walkerton Chamber of Commerce meeting for October has been postponed one week in order to secure the speaker desird by program chairman, Dr. William Carter. The meeting then will be held on Thursday, October 19, at 12:00 noon at Heil's Dining Room. More information about the program will follow next week, TEEN DANCE FRIDAY AT YOUTH BUILDING Friday night will be the night of the Teen Dance this week. The time again will be from 8:30 to 11:00 at the Youth Building. A little more help has answered the call to chaperone these events, but still the need and interept of more parents would be greéatly appreciated. A phone call to Jim Reed or Bob Urbin will take care of any help you would like to give. ,

Rainbow (irls Install New Officers | hw: ‘%‘« -;‘1*( N = o L ‘ B M ; L « LY - K b =l -:<.,,‘ _1;: ¥ MISS LINDA MARTIN Miss Linda Martin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Martin, Rt 3, Wa'kerton, was installed as Worthy Advisor of Rainbow for Girls Assembly No. 64, Saturday night in the Masonic Temple at 7:30 o'clock. The assembly room was decorated in Miss Martin's chosen colors of red and Wwhite. White vases of red roses were on East, West and South pedestais. A bow awch of while with red letters of her motto, “My Faith Looks Up to Thee' hung on the back drop drapes behind the east. A white shadow box, holding a Bible and red roses, was placed in front of the east dais. Guests in the east were Alfred Drews, Grand Organizer of District 1, and Mrs. Wayne Dipert, Worthy Matron of O. E. S. Mrs., Newton Wil'lams, past Mother Advisor, protemed for Mrs. Alfred Drews, who is ill She greeted the guests and introduced another Mother Advisor, Mrs. Francis Gindelberger, who was Installing Worthy Advisor. Other installing officers were Miss Diane Gindelberger, past Worthy Advisor, past Grand Love and the present Grand Recorder, installing Marshal; Nancy Martin, Chaplain; Barbara Lidy, recorder; Nancy Cripe, soloist; and Mrs. Clarence Reid, past Mother Advisor, musician. Miss Martin chose a floorlength dress of white tiered ruffled nylon organdy. She wore a corsage of red roses. Follwing her vows at the altar, she was escorted to the East' by her grandfather, Charles N. Raobertson, of Chicago. As they reached the KEast, Miss Cripe sang “Linda.” David Martin, Linda's brother, presented her with a gavel on a white satin pillow. Linda presented her mother with a lace basket wtih a single red rose bud in #t as Miss Cripe sang “Only A Rose.” Other elective officers installed were Nancy Cripe, Worthy Associate Advisor; Gail Baker, Charity; Sharon Garab, Hope; Mary Carol Tunis, Faith; Gail Reid, recorder; and Carol Dutcher, treasurer. Limit Except On Weekends The Walkerton Town Board, following their meeting of Tuesday night, informed the Walkers ton Police Department that again the 10:00 o'clock curfew would be enforced. This effects any child under 18 years of age. The time is set for 12:00 midnight on Friday and Saturday Exceptions are only made for special events, This move 18 an etrort to get the younger people off the streets at night. It serves a dual pure pose, one to get the school childe ren home on school nights, and also to curb any trouble that may develope, Anyone in this age limit out after 10:00 p.m., must either be accompanied by an adult or have permission to be out. It ig the duty of the parents to take interest in their children's welfare and where-a-bouts and make the enforcement effective. (The parents are responsib'e for the ace tions of their children at this age,. ® Indians Host a North Liberty o Tuesday Night Walkerton's Indians will be trying to get back on the winning Ways Tuesday as thev host the North Liberty Shamrocks in their sixth football game of the season. Walkerton has a two win and three lost record and North Liberty at present is 4-2 for the year. Included in these two schedules is a 20-0 win for North Liberty over Walkerton in the season opener. Since that time, both teams have improved considerably. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. in the Park, Knox Blasts Indians Last Friday night Knox's pows erful Redskins topped Walkere ton in a very one-sided game, 596. The Redskins were just too much as they have been in vare sity footbal! for quite a few vears and have a much larger school. The Knox Redskins are one of the outstanding teams in this area, probably the most outstanding other than the Northern Indiana Conference Schools, It was no contest from the start. Ron Cavender returned the opening kick-off 80 yards for the first score. From there they went to a commanding 33-6 half time score. Thirteen points in each of the final two quarters completed the rout. Walkerton attempted 27 passes in this game, completing seven for 79 yards. Rushing, they made only 13 vards against the larger Knox team. Knox gained a total of 338 yards. This was a real taste of football for the Walke erton team who never quit fight. ing despite the jopsided score, - Police News Not much appearea in the police news this week. Three rune a-way boys from the Family and Children’'s Home in Mishawaka, were apprehended in Walkerton on Sunday at 4:30 pm. The aue thorities of the home were contacted and the boys were taken back several hours later. A trutk tire, mounted, Was taken from a truck at the West Walkerton Truck Stop on Tuesday evening.
