Boat Races Sunday At Koontz Lake The annual Boat Races, sponsored by the Koontz Lake Water Sports Club, will he held at Koontz Lake Sunday. September 4. The races will begin at l;od pin and are held on a couma marked out in front of the Anderson Beach Hctel. Elgin la-or in all have b< en planned with no admission charge to watch this annual event. Races will be held in the following classes: 0 to 7' 2 hp ; 8 to 15 h.p.; 16 to 25 h.p.; 26 to 35 h p.; 36 to 50 h p.‘, 50 and over h.p.. Free for all any size motcr; and a race for women ,25 h.p. and up. Tlrese races have been sanctioned by the Indiana State Conservation Department. These trophies will ho awarded In each race for Ist. 2nd and 3.d, with the exception of the ladies' race, in which a prize will be awarded the winner. Tvo hundred guests wpie seated at tables for ten in the high school gym. Centering the tables were cleverly made miniature figures of an elephant, a donkey and an all-American girl, arranged in a styrofcam baseplanned to get out the vote in November. The luncheon was served by the hostesses at each table. The Carollers, a men's glee club from the United States Steel Company, Gary provided a half hour of delightful music - net nearly enough to satisfy the assemblage. Their numbers were chosen particularly for the occasion. and featured songs about women. It is hoped they will return to Walkerton for a full concert. They were directed by
