Chicago Trip Is Big Day For Junior Leaguers Last Wednesday tho Junior League and Babe Ruth league boys attended the White SoxYankee game at Conusky Park in Chicago. Two hundred boys and twenty five men assembl I at Un? hi^h school parking lul at 9:30. By ten all cats were under way. After eating then sa k lunch outside the ball park, the boys filed in and sat in the felt field stands. They had an hour and a half to wait bvfoie the game started, but the boys kept busy eating, drinking, buying souvenirs and watching the teams waim up. The fust half of the gam<e was pretty close. Bill Skowron < f the Yankees got a home run in the first inning and the score stayed at 1-0 until the sixth. As the game progressed, the Yankees added mere runs and beat the White Sox 6-0. The White Sox had many chances to score, but couldn't come through with the hits when they were needed. There were seme exceptionally fine marching units in competition with New Cai lisle winning the Grand trophy, and Grovertown placing second. Other bands who participated were: Rolling Prairie, Wanatah. Mill Creek. Union Township. LaCrosse and Chnton-Hanna-Noble. This is the first year for this type contest at the fair and from all reports will most probably become an annual event. The Walkerton High School band will continue their series cf summer concerts tonight (Thursday). with the ninth concert of the summer season. These concerts are held on the High
