Merchants Win Three; Boost Record To 8-4 The Walkerton Mei chants baseball team boosted their reason’s record to 8 wins and 1 losses over the week as they split a double header Sunday after winning two single games Wedn xsday and Saturday. They are currently in first place in tne South Boid Night League, with a record of 2 wins and no losses. Last Wednesday night, in a Night League game, the Town and Country team fell 6-3. Lcfly Holmes was the winning pitch©:' for Walkerton. Saturday Larry Hay spun a 3-hit shutout against the Elkhart Shamrocks as Walkerton won 10-0. Sunday a double header at Walkerton found Walkerton and the Benton Harbor Sox splitting ji double header with the Merchants dropping the first game 6-5 ©nd winning the second game by a 9-0 score. Jack Tiede was the loser in the first game with Cliffori| Allen throwing the shutout in the second contest. This new title will take him back to State Jr. Leader Conference it DePauw for a week again next year, only as a counselor in tend of a delegate. Ho was the can- • didate from St. Joseph County to the District Election of the office where he was chosen and installed. This 17 year old 4-Her has built up a total of 32 project years and at present is busy working on his 12 projects for this year. He has won Grand and Reserve Champion honors with four of these prcjects in recent yeats. In 1959, he was part of the entomology judging team which won first in the county and third in the district. He has held local club offices of reporter, recreation leader, treasurer and boys Jr. Leader represented the Walkerton 4-H last August at the St. Joseph Comity Fair as Township King. Observe Silver /Anniversary The 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Kneisley, Lincoln way East one and onehaJf mite near LaPorte, will be celebrated with open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 3. They were married in LaPorte on July 3, 1935 by the Rev. Kema of the Baptist Church and have lived in LaPorte in their present home since that time. They have no children. Their nieces and nephews are assisting for the occasion. No invitations have been issued.
