Phyllis Daniels, daughter of Mr. and Mi's. Fred Daniels, will be confined to her bed for six weeks with Hepatitis. Mrs. Elmer Hartke has returned home after spending seven weeks in Billings hospital in Chicago. Otto Schmeltz, Carey Treesh, Loren Knowlton and Bill Snyder left last Friday for a 10-day fishing trip to Wisconsin. Mr. and Mrs. James Keeling, Ted and Ed Keeling, enjoyed a double header ball game Sunday in Chicago, Yankee and White Sox games. Mrs. Ted Keeling. Mrs. Harold Cole, Mrs. Ed Keeling and baby, Roger Keeling, were Sunday afternoon callers in the George Ferverda home. Mrs. Norman Fult a entertained Sunday for the birthday of Carl Fults. Guests were Mrs. Carl Fults and Marianne and Ronnie Laidig, all of Bremen. Mrs. Louis Uhleman of LaPorte was a Saturday supper guest of j Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hostetler and Allen. They enjoyed the parade in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Swett of Lowell were Sunday guests. Don Horney of HamJet was Allen’s guest alsc on Sunday. Mrs. Edgar Houser, North Liberty, and Mrs. Amil Schultz, have just returned from Tucson, Ariz., where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schultz and family and attended the graduation exercises of Dennis Schultz in a class of 353 graduates. Schaffer is the former Pat Buren, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Modest Burch. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hershberger are the parents of a son born June 16 in Kirksville Osteopathic hospital .Kirksville, Mo. Mr. Hershberger is a senioir student at Kirksville College of Osteopathy and Surgery. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hershberger.

Sherry Hiler has returned home for the summer. She is a student at St. Mary of Providence School in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Finch of Hanna, spent last webk end in Mt. Moms, 111. They were guests of Mrs. Louis G. Finch and family. Mrs. Hazel Luke and Mi-s. A F. Dailey visited Mr. and Mrs. Everett Henry of South Bend Monday evening. Mrs. J. C. Cites is at the home of Mr. and Mrs- Hartman Tracy in LaPorte while Mrs. Tracy is in the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jackson and daughters visited Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Blum of Hamlet Sunday. Mrs. Candace Vandervort was admitted to Holy Family hospital June 21. Bill Klein was admitted to Community hospital June 21. JOEY IS SIX Joseph Gerard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marcelien VanWanzeele, had his birthday celebration the past week end. On Saturday he had his cake and guests were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Atkisscn, Koontz Lake. Sunday a picnic supper party was enjoyed and guests were Karen Sue, Randy, Debbie and M,r. and Mrs. Cyril Matthys of South Bend; Mary, Suzanne an<l Mr .and Mrs. William Leake of Mishawaka. Mrs. Howard McMinn of Peru spent several days last week as a guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Hiler. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Miller entertained Sunday dinner guests as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Gail Miller and daughter, Sharon, of Pa^k Forest, 111. Rev. J. Kemp Tunis and family returned home Tuesday night from their vacation in Baltimore, Maryland. They were accompanied home by Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Coates of Baltimore. Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Coates were returning home from California and stopped over for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Coates will return to Maryland with them.
